“Glory” coming to Oscar stage!
Common and John Legend will perform their Oscar®-nominated song “Glory” at the 87th Oscars airing on Sunday, February 22, live on ABC. “Glory” has been the clear winner this awards season, and we expect the winning streak to continue at the Oscars.
Show producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron said, “Common and John Legend are artists who have always lifted our spirits and made us think. The Oscar stage is that much more profound because of their presence and we welcome them.” This is great news considering many people are still upset about the lack of diversity in the Oscar nominations this year. Maybe some people will tune in just to see this.
Anyway, “Glory” which was written by John Legend and Common, is up against four other songs in the Original Song category. Those songs are “Everything Is Awesome” from “The Lego Movie,” “Grateful” from “Beyond the Lights,” “I’m Not Gonna Miss You” from “Glen Campbell…I’ll Be Me” and “Lost Stars” from “Begin Again.”
