Are you visiting Los Angeles or have lived here for a while and want to know the best places for celebrity spotting in LA? We’re going to break down the top places and ways to spot celebrities in LA!
So you want to spot a celebrity in Los Angeles? I’ll tell you the best ways to make it happen. First of all, celebrities are all over the Los Angeles area, but spotting them can sometimes seem way harder than it is. Everyone has this idea that all celebrities are surrounded by bodyguards and completely secluded. Not true. Celebrities go out just like the rest of us, but you just have your eyes open. They may be in regular clothes to avoid being seen, but don’t be afraid to say happen to spot one. So let’s get to it.
1. The Grove/Farmers Market
The Grove is a magical place that will take all your money, but will leave you with a lasting smile for hours after. With some of your favorite stores and beautiful atmosphere, it’s no wonder that some of your favorite stars are often spotted here. You can spend hours at the Grove and then hop over to The Original Farmers Market which is right next door. Make sure you look around though, it’s easy to miss them. “Extra” used to tape at The Grove, but now you can find them over at Universal CityWalk which is another place to spot celebs getting interviewed. Recently, E! has been seen taping many segments at The Grove and The Americana at Brand in Glendale.
2. Runyon Canyon
Have you gone hiking in LA yet? If not, GET TO IT! Hiking in LA is a blast and a great place to
spot celebs workout. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve gone hiking in LA and spotted a celeb just getting their workout on. I will say it’s probably not a good idea to interrupt their workout to say hi. You can smile, but let them be. If you want to check out Runyon, the address is 2000 N Fuller Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90046.
Yup. The Los Angeles International Airport is a great spot for celeb watching. Everybody can’t just hop on a private jet, but they have to get to their destination somehow right? Some of the biggest celebs can be seen at LAX, but they usually are surrounded by security detail. They don’t want to be attacked by swarms of crazy fans. However, I’ve run into celebs at baggage claim, in first class, at the gate in my terminal, even in the security line. Once again, the key is to just be on the lookout. You never know who you might see.
So you may not actually get to hug or speak to your favorite celeb, but you can be in their presence. The best part is, they are free. Whether it’s ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’, ‘Dancing With The Stars’, ‘American Idol’, ‘Video Music Awards’ or even ‘The Roast of Justin Bieber‘, you never know what audience you may be able to get into. These are cool events that you can attend and brag about to your friends and family. The best websites to find out about tapings and to get tickets are Audiences Unlimited, Inc., On Camera Audiences and 1iota. You can also search for show tapings to find more. You never know what could happen. You may get a chance to actually meet one of your favorite celebrities.
I could continue to list places where you can spot celebs like Rodeo Drive, Bar Marmont, The Ivy, the local grocery store, the list goes on and on. The fact of the matter is, celebs are all around out here. Don’t go anywhere expecting to see celebs and that’s usually when they show up. Remember, celebrities are still people. Don’t get crazy when you meet them. Many of them are nice enough to say hi and some will take a picture, but don’t be offended if they don’t. There are so many reasons why they may not want a picture taken.
Well, this is a good starting point, but I promise if you go out and experience what LA has to offer, you will spot a celeb. They may even be in the car next to you. Good luck!
